June is Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month, an annual observance to raise awareness about Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia, as well as recognize it as a major public health issue.

Brain tumors are a leading cause of death in children and adults, with more than 200,000 diagnosed each year. Brain tumor treatments have come a long way in recent years, but there is still much more to learn about these very complex tumors. On World Brain Tumor Day, we raise awareness about brain tumors, pay tribute to those affected by them, and support efforts to fight these terrible diseases.

April is Parkinson’s Awareness month, a period where healthcare professionals, businesses, civil society groups, and support groups will be voicing support and giving information and access to education for those living with Parkinson’s disease.The month poses an opportunity to spark discussions about actions that can ease the issues faced by Parkinson’s patients, and appreciate the efforts of those who contribute to the fight against the disease.

March is Brain Injury Awareness Month in America. This awareness campaign has been recognized for over 30 years and is supported and promoted by most health organizations in the country with lots of campaigns and social media activity encouraging interest and education.

Brain Awareness Week is the global campaign to foster public enthusiasm and support for brain science. Every March, partners host imaginative activities in their communities that share the wonders of the brain and the impact brain science has on our everyday lives. Brain Awareness Week was founded by the Dana Alliance for Brain Initiatives (DABI) and the European Dana Alliance for the Brain (EDAB) and is coordinated by the Dana Foundation.
